The 71-year-old competed in all 14 A-mains posting an incredible 11 top 5 finishes. Take out a pair of 20th place finishes and an 18th place run, and the worst Art finished in a feature was eighth. He opened the season strong, not finishing out of the top three from April 18 through June 6. Ball scored a win on opening night and had three runner-up runs and five third place showings. His average A-main finishing position was 6th.
